What AI or Not is
AI or Not offers a web-style detector and an API key on its free plan, and it attempts a generator label. DeepFakeCheck does not name a generator.
Pricing we could verify
- Accessed 29 October 2026 at https://www.aiornot.com/pricing.
- Free, as stated there: $5 in free credits, 1 million words of AI text detection free every month, 20 AI image checks, and an API key.
- Pro is $5/month and includes $10 in credits. The page says it unlocks text, image, deepfake, voice, music, and video, and lists 2 million words, 500 image checks, and 1,000 seconds of video checks.
- A $100/month plan includes $100 in credits and, in their words, 25% less on image, audio, and video checks than Pro.
Vendor prices change. The sentences above are what that page said on 29 October 2026, not a promise about today.
What we measured
On 27 October 2026 we scored four images the same way for every vendor. Three were labeled AI: a Google Gemini screenshot (canton-tower), a GPT image (zootopia), and a Flux image (camera-woman). The fourth (man-portrait) was unlabeled and only described as likely real, so it is not counted as a confirmed photograph. This is a spot check, not a ranking. AI or Not named the generator on 2 of 3 labeled AI images (GPT image as 4o at 98%, Flux at 86%). It called the Google Gemini screenshot AI at 86% but attributed it to Stable Diffusion 47% / Nano Banana 19%, which did not match the label. On the unlabeled portrait it said real, with a deepfake score of 15%.
deepfakecheck.io's own result on this set will be added after a re-test on the current production version. Hive named 3 of 3 on this set. A sample of four images cannot say which product is more accurate in general.
A separate pixel-model test, 477 images on 28 October 2026, is written up on the accuracy page. It is not this head-to-head, and it is not a full-system score.
DeepFakeCheck pricing
A new website visitor starts with 2 analyses (free_balance is inserted as 2). Anonymous successful free analyses are also capped at 2 per IP per UTC day. Paid packs are one-time: $2.99 for 50, $7.99 for 200, and $14.99 for 500. Paid analyses last 1 year. There is no subscription. One image, video, audio, or text check uses 1 analysis.
When to choose AI or Not
- You want a generator guess and an API key, and you can live with a wrong family name. It missed the family on the screenshot in this set.
- You specifically need the text allowance they list (1 million words a month on the free plan).
When to choose DeepFakeCheck
- The file might be a screenshot or a social download, and you want provenance and pixel notes kept separate from the visual read.
- You would rather have no generator name than a confident wrong one.
