What TruthScan is
TruthScan sells image and PDF-page checks with a dashboard, reports, and an API. On our spot check it returned an AI score and did not name a generator.
Pricing we could verify
- Accessed 29 October 2026 at https://truthscan.com/pricing.
- Free: $0, 25 results a month. One result is one image or one PDF page. Their FAQ says this needs no credit card and has no time limit.
- Starter: $24/month for 1,000 results, then $0.03 each. The card also shows $290/year.
- Professional: $83/month for 5,000 results. Business: $333/month for 40,000 results.
- A later answer on the same page says 40,000 Business results total $399. Both figures were on the page that day. We did not ask TruthScan which amount is billed.
- Vendor-reported, not measured by us: the same page says average detection accuracy is 99.3% across 92 image generators and 250,000 real images, with a false-positive rate under 1%, and 95%+ on every generator tested. We did not reproduce that study.
Vendor prices change. The sentences above are what that page said on 29 October 2026, not a promise about today.
What we measured
On 27 October 2026 we scored four images the same way for every vendor. Three were labeled AI: a Google Gemini screenshot (canton-tower), a GPT image (zootopia), and a Flux image (camera-woman). The fourth (man-portrait) was unlabeled and only described as likely real, so it is not counted as a confirmed photograph. This is a spot check, not a ranking. TruthScan returned AI 99%, AI 99%, and AI 97% on the three labeled AI images, and did not name a generator. It also returned AI 75% on the unlabeled portrait. The scoreboard marked that 75% as an outlier. Because the portrait has no confirmed label, that call is not counted here as a false positive.
deepfakecheck.io's own result on this set will be added after a re-test on the current production version. Hive named 3 of 3 on this set. A sample of four images cannot say which product is more accurate in general.
A separate pixel-model test, 477 images on 28 October 2026, is written up on the accuracy page. It is not this head-to-head, and it is not a full-system score.

When to choose TruthScan
- You review documents and PDF pages, want a retained dashboard history, and are comfortable treating their 99.3% figure as their own claim.
- Twenty-five free image or PDF-page results a month matches the job, and you do not need a generator name.
When to choose DeepFakeCheck
- You also need video, audio, or a short text check in the same product.
- You want the sample size of a published test to be the sample size. Our public pixel-model set is 477 images, and this head-to-head is four.
