DeepFake Check

Comparison

Hive alternative for AI image checks

What we measured on four images in October 2026, next to Hive’s public pricing page. A spot check, not a ranking.

What Hive is

Hive publishes an AI image and deepfake classifier and a separate AI video detector. On our four-image check it also named a generator. DeepFakeCheck does not name the generator.

Pricing we could verify

  • Accessed 29 October 2026 at https://thehive.ai/pricing. The page title in that fetch was “Pricing | Deploy”.
  • The page lists AI Image + Deepfake Classification and AI Video Detection on a usage-based Developers plan, and a custom Enterprise plan.
  • The text we could read did not include a per-image price for those two products, so this page does not quote one. It also did not state a no-signup consumer allowance.

Vendor prices change. The sentences above are what that page said on 29 October 2026, not a promise about today.

What we measured

On 27 October 2026 we scored four images the same way for every vendor. Three were labeled AI: a Google Gemini screenshot (canton-tower), a GPT image (zootopia), and a Flux image (camera-woman). The fourth (man-portrait) was unlabeled and only described as likely real, so it is not counted as a confirmed photograph. This is a spot check, not a ranking. Hive named the generator on all 3 labeled AI images (gemini3 99.7%, gptimage2 99.9%, flux 89.9%). On the unlabeled portrait it returned AI 6.5%, which the scoreboard recorded as a real call. That portrait was not confirmed real.

deepfakecheck.io's own result on this set will be added after a re-test on the current production version. Hive named 3 of 3 on this set. A sample of four images cannot say which product is more accurate in general.

A separate pixel-model test, 477 images on 28 October 2026, is written up on the accuracy page. It is not this head-to-head, and it is not a full-system score.

When to choose Hive

  • You need an API that returns a generator name, and Hive’s label was right on all three labeled files in this spot check.
  • You are buying developer or enterprise API access rather than a no-signup web check.

When to choose DeepFakeCheck

  • You want one no-signup check for an image, video, audio file, or text, and you do not need the generator name.
  • You want the pixel-model method written down. That is a different test from these four images, on the accuracy page.
